I've never understood why film crews are allowed to be involved with police actions. I would think the cameramen, directors, and other staff might get in the way of police doing their work.

It's like Frank said, propaganda. Why is it that an Abner Louima or Kelley Helleson never ever turns up on a COPS episode? We're getting a filtered and polished presentation and told that it's "reality."
