Kind of like how we were told the taliban were a big threat.
No, neither Bush nor Obama said Taliban was a threat to the US. We went to Afghanistan to root out Al Qaeda, and we found out they had the ability to relocate and thrive in Iraq (in an environment we created). The Taliban was a problem only because they have AQ a place to hide.

If Obama's sending his people out there to lie to us, he should stop. ISIS is a threat, or not. Is Obama himself confused or is his strategy to pretend he's confused.
1. The general public started hearing about ISIS in June. It's currently late August. While I'm sure that Obama and company have heard about them for a bit longer than the general public, it's still early. Developing workable strategies takes time. Chillax.
2. Seriously, unless you're an Islamic extremist, we're all on the same side here. Obama should not be expected to act unilaterally. There is a log of fighting between Republicans and Democrats right now, but both parties have some interest in serving American citizens' interests. This is a time to work together, and Obama should definitely get input from politicians and advisers in both parties.
3. I think Obama has checked out. He's already lost. Much of it was his own doing, although much of it was also well-executed attacks from Republicans. Obama is a bit hypersensitive - he knows he lost, and he's just going to go through the motions now. A similar thing happened with Bush in about 2006. But congrats Republicans on your victory.
Bill O'Reilly has been warning Obama about ISIS for over a year.

Obviously if they were harboring terrorists they were a threat. It's called aiding & abetting
Do we normally bomb folks who are not considered a threat?
"On my orders, the United States military has begun strikes against Al Qaeda terrorist training camps and military installations of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan." SAID President Bush
More than two weeks ago, I gave Taliban leaders a series of clear and specific demands: Close terrorist training camps. Hand over leaders of the Al Qaeda network. And return all foreign nationals, including American citizens, unjustly detained in their country.
"None of these demands was met. And now, the Taliban will pay a price." SAID President George Bush 2001
Even now, folks are accusing of Obama of aiding and abettng the enemy (Taliban) when he traded
5 Taliban for Bergdahl.

We don't have a plan for how to deal with ISIS in Syria. We don't know who will be working together to handle the issue. We don't know what our Military will be called to do. YET. Making up phony narrative that these facts are somehow indicative a weak Prez, is nonsense. We are fortunate to have a Prez willing to evaluate and include those in the know on how to proceed. We know what happens when we don't have a Prez that does not do that.

Sure......but, keeping your mouth shut after asking people to hear you???
It was at a news conference.
