The Columbia River was named for a ship, the Columbia Rediviva, not ole Chris. Whether the ship was named for Chris or for the Latin word for Dove, I dunno. Not sure anyone does at this point.

Maybe/maybe not, but I've definitely heard many a conservative b!+c# and moan about MLK Day and Earth Day (not that that's even remembered anymore).

Meh, humans have been moving into areas populated by other humans, since the dawn of mankind, and if the groups can't coexist the stronger wipes out and/or absorbs the weaker.

Get over yourselves you bunch of mongoloidists.

Columbus Day more than anything is a marker to the dawn of a new age of humanity.

Columbus like all explorers was the spreader of new technologies for the advancement of our species.

Like it or not the existing mongoloids that inhabited these continents of the new world were weak and therefore faced the brute force edge evolution.

What? you Godless politically correct dogooders don't believe in evolution now?

Weak in what way? They lived off the land in harmony and did not have the plethora of diseases that the Europeans brought with them (which is the biggest reason for the genocide). Europe was largely poor and nasty back then...

It is in every way, shape, and form comparable to Columbus except in magnitude. It's saying an individual who accomplished great things shouldn't be recognized for those things because of something else.

Cheating on your spouse is a demonstrated lack of ethics and character in an individual who was a Christian minister famous for his ethical stances.
