Not at all. I don't like the government forcing any wage on any employer. Except for maybe time and a half for over 40 hours.

If people want to make good money in FF they can move to South Dakota in oil field country. Mcdonalds pays 17.00/hr and can't get enough workers. Average truck drivers make 100,000.00 plus as rig workers etc. do also. Sure it is cold in winter but it is cold as hell in New York and just about half or more of states anyway. Move away from Mommy and Daddy and get a life. With wages high in South Dakota, so is renting a place to live. Supply and demand . It was reported that rent is higher for averages than New York, and is highest in nation last I heard.

Except that they can't afford to move there since rents have necessarily skyrocketed.

True. The high wage you would make working there is made redundant due to the San Francisco/NYC type high rents. You could probably live in a tent when it's 40 below though.

we asked YOU to define ''living wage'....put an actual definition on it

what you people calling for an increase don't realize is that there is NO DEFINITION for living wage that iis universal .....

living wage in the NYC metro area might be $25/hr....but in miississippi it might be $7/hr

why cant liberals figure it out...one size does NOT fit all

federal min wage should be zero

min wage should be set LOCALLY ......not even by the state....(for example NY could have 3 min wages....1. nyc metro inc LI and Westchester...2 southern tier including binghamton, Oswego, erie, etc....3 the north country...ie watertown, messina, ogdensberg)

come on give a valid answer... you CONTINUE TO AVOID IT
what else needs to be said?

I think the fact that you had to choose two wildly different career fields in order to make your assertion about experience not mattering is pretty much evidence of how completely wrong you are.

Try coming up with a comparison of a person with no experience and a person with 20 years of experience in the same career making the same money.

I've camped in child weather and while there's things you can do, it is very tough to, even you are able bodied. But the fact is, campsites are even rather expensive in ND. Why because there's to much demand ALREADY.

its called supply and demand. When the demand for a $4.00 cheeseburger from McDonalds goes
down, so do the jobs disappear. So all the "feel good" rhetoric is just that, feel good fluff. It's a shame democrats don't think these through.

Keep slashing jobs and see how high your tax rates go to pay for all the welfare you've created.

Keep thinking the whole world deserves welfare, and see how fast your society collapses.
