I wouldnt necessarily be against having to take a firearms safety class in order to get a ccw or even fire a gun. Ive seen my share of people, especially women who are just casually shooting at a range, that do not practice proper gun safety...... problem is that laws like this are just a slippery slope for emotional panderers on the left to implement more broad restrictions....

I had originally read Lesotho, but have seen it attributed to Malaysia or Thailand in threads. It came from CNBC Africa in March 2013 and the video is no longer posted, though the link still comes up.
The point remains the same though--it is in a different country with a different culture. US pro-gunners have lifted it and use it to spread gun propaganda. It's deceptive, dishonest and flat out dumb trying to equate any of these countries to the US. These amateur tactics are getting old.
There is also the point that people have stopped many robberies without guns.
Sounds like the Criminals are the problem not law abiding Canadians. You guys may want to look at your Immigration policy too and see who Canada is letting in?

We're tougher to get into than your country by measurable miles. Americans even have a tough time emigrating here. I've spent considerable time on your southern border watching them wade across so that dog ain't gonna hunt.
Every country has a criminal element but only one is noted throughout the world for providing them with weapons ~ care to guess.....?
Further proof why people who know nothing about guns should not make gun policy decisions.
I'm quite familiar with guns. There are no ak hunting needs. Just a few people who feel like they need to repel the evil government from their front door.
Any lawful gun that Police carry, we individuals should have the right to carry also.
