Retired Lt. Gen. Thomas G. McInerney said the president’s timeline matters because Obama is the only person qualified to give “cross-border authority.” In the case of Benghazi, he said, it’s extremely important to account for his whereabouts because “nothing was done” in response to the 8 1/2-hour firefight that killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens....

According to former National Security Council spokesperson Tommy Vietor, Obama was not in the situation room that night, as he was the night Osama bin Laden was captured. Marc Thiessen wrote in the Washington Post that White House records show three men – Michael Donilon, David Ginsberg and Ron Klain – visited the president that night to prep him for his first debate with Mitt Romney.

From the White House, Obama ordered that all available assets be used to respond to the attacks. Its a lie that "nothing was done."

According to Secretary Panetta’s statements to the Senate, the President “directed both myself and General Dempsey to do everything we need to do to try to protect the lives” in Benghazi.49 General Dempsey recounted to the House Armed Services Committee:

the President instructed us to use all available assets to respond to the attacks to
ensure the safety of U.S. personnel in Libya and to protect U.S. personnel and
interests throughout the region

So far the congressional investigators have found that there was no STAND DOWN order and have reported as much in official reports.

There was no "stand-down order."

"Military officers testified that there was no "stand-down order" that held back military assets that could have saved the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans killed at a diplomatic outpost and CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya.
...
The senior military officer who issued the instruction to "remain in place" and the detachment leader who received it said it was the right decision and has been widely mischaracterized."

Dismissing GOP lawmakers' claim, officers say no 'stand-down order' given in Benghazi attacks | Fox News

Specific to the book noted in the OP:

"Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, dismissed a conspiracy about the attacks on U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya during an appearance on Fox News on Tuesday, undermining a storyline actively promoted by the conservative news network.
...
But Rogers, whose committee found that no such “stand down” order was given, defended the station chief’s momentary hesitation and accused lawyers connected with the men and their book of lodging sensationalistic claims in order to sell more books."

Janelle has her fingers in her ears right now, singing, "La, la, la...I can't HEAR you!" because you are giving her facts that contradict her fantasy. So don't be surprised when she posts yet again a few pages from now, demanding to know "who gave the stand down order?"

And the New and Improved!! Trey Gowdie Benghazi Circus!! is coming to town, so expect more of this nonsense in the coming weeks.
