With pie thrown in their faces, while being forced to eat crow, polling shows tight races even in what was once secure blue strongholds.

It is tight in the phone polling, but the factor that has not been figured in just yet, is those that say they support the Democrat that is running on the phone, but are in such disgust at the "I told you so's" they have no drive to take the time in their day, to go to the voting booth.

LOL. By all means ignore the fact that Dems do not vote in numbers in mid-term elections, hence the gains by the GOP in 2010, but then again I am sure the morons on the right will still claim they got a mandate by winning some seats.

Yeah, you keep telling yourself that like a night time story for those who hope reality will just go away.

I also remember right wingers claiming the polls were in their favor in the last election too.

Shhh, let them believe that. It is much more devastating and hilarious when they have a melt down as reality shows how wrong they are.

One of the people I knew a long time ago, but we connected back on FB, react so badly to Romney's loss he broke his keyboard and chair...then walked around the block screaming into the night. He, and his wife, we so convinced of Fox's commentary about Romney poised to win that when it happened he went ballistic. Then he went down the rabbit hole of claiming it was some conspiracy by Democrats (rather than Fox News delusions) to take over.

The interesting part is he has gotten sick from cancer and could no longer work. He had to sign up for Obamacare and help from public assistance to support his family. It is devastating news to anyone, but it even pushed him farther to nuttiness. Now he spends all day at home on liberal programs he hates telling everyone how things would be better if they, and liberals, didn't exist...and those who take advantage of them as wastes.

Never trust polls.

Just go vote. Encourage others. Watch out for law breakers and cheaters.

You're delusional. Democrats will vote Democrat in 2016. It doesn't matter how bad that will ultimately be for the people, the country or what they pretend to stand for. There literally is nothing that Democratic party can do to turn off partisan voters. NSA, secret kill lists, killing US citizens without due process, rounding up war protesters, raiding medical marijuana dispensaries, macing/clubbing occupy protesters, NSA spying, knowingly selling guns in Mexico to the cartels, bombing Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Libya, Syria, Somalia & Iraq, supporting bailouts for banks & auto makers, exporting our jobs overseas via trade deals....again, there literally is nothing the Democrats could do to lose partisan voters.

The Presidents constant campaigning, instead of leading a nation, is the desperation the Democrats are dealing with to get people to show up.

The thrill is gone and the President knows he is in deep water, or he would not be out trying to drum up the base to get to the voting booth.
There is no more swaying independents. That ship has sailed.

When you use the excuse that "the GOP made gains in 2010 because Dems were too lazy to get to the polling booth", there's nothing much left to say, is there?

No doubt. Look at Eric Cantor and the disgust with him, that voter on the phone supported, but didn't have the will to take time from their day to go vote.
