Why Michael Moore Isn't Thrilled With President Obama

"When the history is written of this era, this is how you'll be remembered: he was the first black president," Moore said

"OK, not a bad accomplishment, but that's it," the director said. "That's it, Mr. Obama. 100 years from now, 'he was the first black American that got elected president' and that's it. Eight years of your life and that's what people are going to remember. Boy, I got a feeling, knowing you, that -- you'd probably wish you were remembered for a few other things, a few other things you could've done."

"So, it is, on that level, a big disappointment," Moore said.


Geez - even he gets it. Would be nice for him to make a movie about his disappointment as he did with other presidents - but I understand that won't happen.

I do give him more respect than many here that blindly continue to defend Obama.

Like a broken clock Moore is correct, but the goof probably thinks Obama didn't get enough laws passed or meddle in our lives enough as reasons for his assessment.

The era of White Guilt is over. Obama will be remembered for being the first black* President, yes, but he will also be remembered for shattering the white guilt template that has propped black people up since 1964 and beyond. What does America owe black people at this point when a black* person has held the highest popularly elected office in the land? Nothing. It's sink or swim time, this time without white guilt (particularly white liberal guilt). This will be Obama's chief accomplishment.

You misunderstand. Moore is still a POS, but it is remarkable that he enunciates what a dud the president has been.
