So, right now it seems like a dead heat.
The vote is Thursday.
What do you think is going to happen, What do you want to happen?

I suspect that it will be very close, but at least 50%+1 will vote to stay with England because that is probably economically better for Scotland and most people will go with security over freedom+risk.

dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies, that that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!

I think it will be a "No" victory, but it will be very close. I'm talking 1995 Quebec close (50.6%-49.4%).

Scotland leaving would be a huge boon for the Tories. It would be like a liberal wasteland such as New York or California leaving the United States.

Leaving with all the money. Scotland has all the offshore oil fields. Leaving the Commonwealth would cause Britain to lose at least half of the national revenues.

They have been allied for over 100 years longer than the United States has existed. I don't know how it will go, but if Scotland leaves, England will hurt bad.

It's been a very nasty campaign for the separation.

They vote on Thursday and the results should be known by 6am on Friday morning. Pubs have been granted Special Licenses to remain open all night until the Vote Results are known in the morning.

Fears of violent clashed between Yes and No supporters have been raised after pubs were granted special licences to keep serving alcohol all through tomorrow night into Friday morning.
Bars across Scotland will now be open throughout the count, which is not supposed to be finished until 6am on Friday at the earliest.

With the mood in Scotland turning increasingly bitter amidst toxic allegations of bullying and intimidation, senior politicians and police officers described the plan for all-night drinking as ‘absolute madness’.

If NO wins the day -- it's going to be a mess.

Default Voting age of 16 in Scotland!!

One of the most surprising things I've read today is that the voting age in Scotland is 16! Can you imagine how easily lead a group of 16-year old voters can be? I don't get it. What do you think?

Will Scotland's Independence Referendum Be Decided by Teen Voters? - NBC News

Quote:
The decision to lower the voting age for the national referendum from 18 to
16 was based on the unspoken calculation by Scotland's separatist government
that younger voters are more inclined to vote with their hearts, not their heads
- and embrace radical change by voting for the pro-independence ‘Yes Scotland’
campaign.

But since the campaign began 18 months ago,
studies have shown that 16 and 17 year olds are no
less likely than their parents or grandparents to made rash decisions over
Scotland’s future.

“Our research provides no support at all for
the claim that the enfranchisement of 16 and 17 year could act as a tool to
boost the 'Yes' vote,” research firm Scotcen said. “If anything, younger people
are less likely to be in favour of independence, primarily it seems because they
have a strong sense of British identity that co-exists alongside a Scottish
one.”

16 year olds in other countries are usually far more worldly wise (and pepping tom tekkens with x ray eyes) then American Children are.

I still don't agree with 16 year olds voting, to be honest.

How easily mislead are 70 year old grandparents? I know a bunch who are.
