We need to be fair around here. They were within there rights to shoot him.

We need more attitudes like these cops displayed.

Sure is funny that after almost 2 hours we get only one reply. I guess that most around here would rather just ***** than congratulate a couple of cops doing good and not killing the kid.

Big difference in this case than this case.

A scrawny little kid that works at Baskin and Robbins. Also the kids father works on another police force. The FBI is investigating.

Independence officer smelled marijuana before arresting teen - KCTV5

At 5:07 p.m. Sunday, Officer Tim Runnels pulled Masters over near Main Street and Southside Boulevard. Masters was driving a gray 2000 Pontiac Grand Pix. There was a warrant for the arrest of a woman associated with the vehicle, which had dark tinted windows.

Runnels said he approached the vehicle on the passenger side and ordered Masters to roll down the window.

"The driver partially rolled down the window a few inches. Officer Runnels reported that he detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle," according to the search warrant application. "The driver refused to completely roll down the passenger side window and asked Officer Runnels, 'Why? I can hear you!' Officer Runnels responded to the driver's side door where he opened the door."

Masters was holding his iPhone and "appeared to be recording the incident," according to the court document. Runnels repeatedly ordered the teen to exit the vehicle.

"The teen refused to exit and asked, 'Why? Am I under arrest?' Officer Runnels determined that the driver was actively interfering with his patrol investigation and informed the driver that he in fact was being placed under arrest. The driver refused to exit his vehicle and physically braced himself inside the vehicle to prevent the officer from extracting him. Officer Runnels attempted to physically remove the driver from the vehicle, but was unsuccessful," according to court records.

Yeah...they're good people.

The kid's parents need to beat the little monsters' a*s until they start crying though.

I am not impressed. The warrant was for a woman associated with the vehicle. Once it was determined that the driver was not her, he should have been allowed to go on his way. Any thug can say "he smelled marijuana"...pfff...that's code for I wanna' shake someone down so I smell marijuana. They know nobody can "prove" that he didn't smell it, even if it was all in his sinister little mind.

Local cops here had someone come in high as heck into their police dept. When they went to arrest him he fought back, and was winning....so more cops got involved. All told half a dozen cops are fighting this guy when he grabs one of their guns, gets it out and fires a shot.

Totally reasonable for them to shoot him and kill him. Instead they wrestle him down.
