-$16.8 trillion GDP
-$67.38 / labor-hour per capita
In lamens terms, we are creating wealth at a rate of $67.38 for every hour of labor worked, good for 3rd in the world.
How much of that $67.38 / hour are you seeing?
Capitalism is working exactly as intended; the 1% are getting filthy rich off your labor and you're not. Are you ready to join a union or increase the minimum wage? Are you ready to keep more of what you "earn?"
Does that labor include services like teaching, doctoring, lawyering? Or is it just labor? If it's just labor, it's a misleading figure because so much money goes towards services that don't contribute to the GDP.

I love it.......I keep all of what I earn.......and it is a lot more than $67.38 an hour.
What happened in 1981? Who was our "socialist" president?
Had nothing to do with who was /is president. Look at immigration reform; its to import new blood in labor area. Its like France less and less bother to contribute. Of course many former poor countries love it since their middle classes are booming. Surely anyone with any sense knew the conditions after WWII wouldn't remain with most of the world destroyed ;so couldn't compete.
Capitalism has worked just fine. The U.S. economy started to tank when all the socialists and their thieving idiot programs screwed with it.
I'm not particularly anti capitalist, but I have real problems with government bailouts of those "too big to succeed" corporations, along with the absolute failure to hold accountable those responsible for the problems which resulted in the "necessity" of those bailouts in the first place.
All part of the entitlement mentality that permeates this country from top to bottom.

Aside from unreported what services are not included?
Well, I'm in health care. So because of serious and ongoing chronic central cost controls I remain more at the mercy of Gov't, rather than capitalism per se. But the end result is the same lagging income.
Public sector is more along the lines of what the private sector should be earning. The public sector generally has managed to keep its protections in tact (for the most part).

First y'all steal the term liberal. After staining the term liberal you now are after the term libertarian.
Libertarian can be social, economic, or both. Neoliberal economics (current "capitalism") is an economic libertarian point of view. You know.. the "free" market.
The game is now controlled by massive financial interests who have found ways to take over virtually every aspect of the single family market. The free flow of trillions of dollars, made available to big Wall Street connected players has allowed them to buy up housing to the point that they are literally manipulating housing data.
The OP would have a point if capital was a finite resources..
As it is, its not..
