One of my hero's!!

Some comments from Bo,taken from the video at link.

“What liberalism has done to the black communities, it’s not a monolithic community, is horrific.”

“Most black people live their lives as conservatives; a lot of them vote liberal because that’s the way their families vote, that’s what they grew up voting. And because they believe the press hype, and by the way Republicans haven’t helped. The last batch of Republicans in DC haven’t help with the branding.”

I absolutely adore Bo Snerdly, the "official Obama criticizer," and always have. He is spot on here.

[He doesn't look anything like I imagined!]

I don't think Bo can speak about the Black community and what it needs.

Blacks don't usually vote for Republican candidates because they bring gimmicks like same sex marriage, abortion and gays in the military instead of proposing something concrete for the country.

The last elections has shown who support Republican candidates. Older Whites. Their supporters don't reflect the demographics of America. The Republicans have some issues to work out to save their party.

Once you see Republicans stand for something concrete you will see other demographics cross the line and become supporters.

What's amazing to me is how many Whites will buy into Bo and his ignorance. Don't look to Rush or any other conservative White commentator on what Blacks should be doing. Ask the successful Blacks what they are doing.

I noticed no one has paid attention to "by the way Republicans haven’t helped. The last batch of Republicans in DC haven’t help with the branding.”

Everyone is so quick to blame Black people for voting Democrat. It is so easy to tell Blacks why they shouldn't vote Democrat. But what this caller has pointed out is that the Republicans haven't helped at all. If conservatives and Republicans are so concerned about who Blacks vote for, then maybe they should ask themselves what they could do to get those Black votes.

That is the #1 segment of the Black population that gets the least amount of attention. No one has really asked why most successful Blacks don't listen Bo. If there is any segment of the population the Republican party "could" get, it is the segment of the Black population that is doing well for itself. However, no one even goes there. It is basically, once you become middle class and successful, you're invisible.

So, essentially, Bo is saying that Black communities are horrific and the Limbaugh crowd is happy to agree with this.

Stuff like that is not going to get Blacks to listen to Rush. If anything, it will make things worse. Bo is essentially going to be considered a messenger for Rush Limbaugh.

At least Bill Cosby is respectable in this respect. He isn't working on behalf of a right-wing pundit. It's Bill Cosby on his own, talking to Black people on what they can do to make things better. Black middle class people will listen to Bill Cosby because he is coming as himself, on his own.

If Republicans and conservative radio talk show hosts want more Black listeners, pulling stuff like this will not work.

Generally successful people (unless mega-rich) are also busy people; their voices tend to be lost since they don't have time to speak up or get involved beyond maybe their local PTA. I believe Nixon called them "the silent majority".

Well, your statement has shown why many Blacks won't vote for Republicans. Attitudes such as the words in bold.
