That's not a personal attack.

It is a news story we are all commenting upon.

She did not have to have an abortion. She could have had chemo while pregnant. There are many women who have cancer treatment while pregnant.

Just because you don't agree with me does not make me psychotic. People who have a leg to stand on during a discussion need not lean on attacking others.

Not like a six year old little guy who lives, breathes and is autonomous.

Neither of us know how sister will react. But what do we care about the older child? Mom "laid down her life" for a fetus and cons all over the world rejoiced and cried over it.

And? 30+ years ago a child nearly died due to numerous congenital conditions. Had the parents not taken the child for medical treatment, the child would have died before her 2nd birthday. That child is me.

It goes both ways.

I can't see how you could claim that someone who chose to take an innocent life to save their own was a hero compared to someone who chose to save the innocent life at the expense of their own. This woman gave her life up to save another. Yes, that's heroic.

If you and I are in a burning building and only one can make it out am I a hero if I push you down and leave you to die so I can save myself or if I push you to safety and die myself? No it's not heroic to save yourself but it is understandable.
In your opinion.....it all comes down to how you view a fetus.

I do not place the same value on a fetus as I do on a 6 year old.

Using your analogy, if I could only save one from a burning building, a fetus or a 6 year old, I would save the 6 year old.

I think a 6 year old having their mother for as long as possible is more important than a fetus, my opinion.

That said, it is not my place to judge her decision..... her body, her life, her choice.

Many posters here are, in fact, dissing other mothers who have chosen to abort to save their own lives, and I find that disgusting.

If this woman is a hero, what a real mother should be, etc., etc., what are the women who chose to abort to save their lives? Selfish and immoral? Cowards?

If you found out your mother had an abortion to save her life......what would you think of her?

^^

What if that mother was 9 months pregnant and had to make the same life and death decision? Would you value the 6 year old more than the baby?

Really, the only distinction is the autonomous part, even though a six year old really isn't autonomous from the parents.

Right, she would rather be dead.

You keep saying fetus, but at some point it wont be. Come back in 6 years when this fetus is 6 and the older brother is 12. At that point, I would love for someone to tell that little girl then that her mom made the wrong decision, and should have aborted her.

No, they just ain't heroes. There are very few heroes. Not being a hero does not make you selfish, immoral or a coward.

Oooh, playing the hitler card! Sweet. Just remember, he was one of your kind, not right wing.

It is now a healthy baby. A bit on the ugly side but that is life.

Yep. They keep forgetting he was the leader of the National SOCIALIST Party.

Mom laid down her life for his little sister! It's your unwillingness to accept that FACT that from conception to death (hopefully at old age), it is FULLY HUMAN.

The left's constant attempts to dehumanize a pre-born BABY by using the scientific term "fetus" is losing its power as we learn more and more about the BABY in the womb.

BTW, we don't "rejoice" over what is likely her fate, but we don't badger a woman who is DYING and condemn her for the SACRIFICE she is making for the unborn daughter she loves.

Why the hell can't you honor her CHOICE or at least shut the hell up about it.
