Please realize the manure of hundreds of thousands of pigeons can as has been used to make explosives. Guano was once a major source of Potassium Nitrate the oxidizer in black gunpowder. Wars were fought over access to this stuff.

They weren't searching for guano, which they undoubtedly found. They searched the anal cavities of ten thousand pigeons, for explosives.

Interesting the the birds are getting colonoscopies - yet the Islamists continue to cause trouble. Maybe they are checking the wrong people/species...

At the end of the OPs article...

Muslim Uighurs were blamed for a deadly attack on Tiananmen Square last October, after an SUV was rammed into bystanders killing five people. Chinese police say the East Turkestan Islamic Movement were responsible.

Did they use duct tape ? The humming birds may fair better but it's to early to tell what lengths the Chinese police will go too. The smallest crack in security needs to be examined for safety concerns. No doubt the TSA is taking notes. We import most things from China. Why not common sense safety measures.
