Obama should have fired her. He probably did, but they allow them to resign for the sake of their resumes. Jobs like hers are always political patronage. Nobody expects her to do much, an agency like SS is really run by people further down the chain. But along with the title and the check comes the responsibility to walk the plank when things go wrong. Sebelius should have done the same last fall.
She WAS fired. Jeh Johnson name her replacement when he announced that she had "resigned". Her placement (temporary of course) is the current Director of Corporate Security for Comcast - he wouldn't be able to present this as a "done deal" without having spent some time to convince his to come back. Joe Clancy resigned from his position with the Secret Service as the Special Agent in Charge (SAIC) of President Obama's Protection detail in 2011.
That was a favor job, for raising money for Obama during the 2012 election cycle.
Look at Louise Lenner and what her connection to Obama is and her past experience......
She should have been fired, who else was on the list to head the SS.
That's a good question. She's only been there 18 months, after all that prostitution scandal stuff.
Of course Pierce had the drunken agents in Amsterdam.
IMO, I think the list was very short. I just can't find whose was on that "short list".
Not enough. There is no excuse for the recent incompetence we have seen out of the secret service and everyone involved at least with the elevator incidence should be fired.
It is interesting, though, that the SS is letting intruders get close to Obama much more than they had with prior presidents. That would seem to indicate a couple of things...
1) The incidents are an inside job, or at least being pulled off with inside assistance. Let's face it, in this day and age with advanced electronic surveillance, etc., the intruders should have been stopped long before they were.
2) The above insinuates that even the SS is disillusioned by and disapproves of the sick joke that is the Obama presidency.

You are jumping to conclusions you do not know to be factual. Maybe they were just kept quiet.

The above said, I would not put anything past anyone in Washington.
Since Obama has had three times more threats that any President in history, you would think that SS would be at the top of their game (and not looking the other way??) or did they think they were working for Teflon Barry??
Jokes on all of us...I'm sure she was an SES....now she will continue to get her monthly pay and do nothing, nota...and laugh all the way to the bank....
1. Since her resignation was so readily accepted, I guess the WH wasn't "solidly behind her" after all.
2. Clearly, Obama had no interest in firing the first female head of this agency--the one picked to make it look like a woman was needed to clean things up after the Secret Service prostitution scandal.
3. Memo to Scot Pelley: We get that this is your guy, and dagnabbit you'll carry his water forever, but....it was a real knee-slapper to see your stern face as you incorrectly asserted during last night's news that she was "shown the door." You people never quit!
