Why are Americans so concerned about what the Europeans are doing relative to this topic?
They're big boys. They'll do what's best for them....or not.
You don't mind being surrounded by enemies then...I think Carthage could have used the help of Tyre, who were big boys who did not do what was best for them.
Since 1965 we've turned from being a European melting pot to a salad bowl of some sort.

Well, you are vastly oversimplifying Hitler. First, eye color had very little to do with Hitler's philosophy. The nature of nationalism is to believe that "your people" are better than everyone else's. When America claims its "exceptionalism". What that really means is America is claiming "superiority" to all other countries on Earth.
Basically, although I don't really like Woodrow Wilson for a variety of reasons. Had the French and British listened to Woodrow Wilson circa 1918, there never would have been a Hitler. There might have been National Socialism(IE Sweden), but not the militaristic/lebensraum type of National Socialism that was a result of the Blockade of Germany, the occupation of the Ruhr, and the confiscation of German lands(especially Danzig).
I would rather get rid of the cause of hate, rather than complain that hate exists. Basically, fix the root of the problem, otherwise, history will just keep repeating itself.
I deleted much of your post only because it would be silly to reply to a large block of text like that . I do agree with what you said though, and could not help but rep you on this one. I think too many people are thinking rather short sided in how we handle those we call terrorists, it is in fact an idea and like many ideas cannot be destroyed by bombs or guns it has to be dealt with not through force but by speaking and understanding and trying to change those ideas. Your never going to convince someone america is evil when they see their neighbors and family murdered by american bombs. And those who move to the west from those countries who are muslim while the first and even second generation maybe muslim eventually the successive generations blend in with their surroundings. And may end up taking up another religion or none at all, this is what the catholic church is going through now as well as other religions in this country and around the world. They had their power during the medieval times and since then it has been slipping into where they are now more like figureheads than gods like they once were.

True, I'm not religious but Europe needs Christianity and it needs Christians and it needs them to have small armies of babies.
