One of the remaining problems is that the Florida list came out roughly 60% Hispanic surnames while the population of FL is only about 14% Hispanic. That of course smells of Republican games.
Wow I thought South Florida was dominated by Democrats. Since Obama carry Fl. last Election?

So what you should be saying you smell your own!

Yes they did get access to it eventually but they had to sue to get it.

The list was put together by the State of Florida which is clearly Republican controlled. I would not be at all surprised to find out that South Florida was over represented in the sample checked.

And it may turn out to be true...but it does raise a suspicion that the Republicans are playing games...which is of course the big left argument against Voter ID etc...The Republs love purifying the voter rolls as long as they don't come out of sections, like absentee ballots, where the right tends to predominate.

And if you know that why would you raise it as an issue?

Urbanlife suggested it was the responsibility of the government to go through voter rolls to insure they were citizens.

So you hold it is oK to mislead as long as someone made it desirable?

I would also note the access was given to both Florida and Colorado after the Voting Rights suit with Florida was resolved. They did not get it by suing.

Every state cleans up their voter roles to keep accurate legal voters. I am sure they purge just as many Dems as they do Repub.

Its called continually up dating the roles. Purging those who dead, moved away and or convicted Felons who may have been over looked.

[LEFT]Broward purges 5,000 dead people from voter rolls

Access to new database reveals thousands deceased

About 5,000 dead people have been purged from the voter rolls in Broward County, and Broward Republicans are pointing to hundreds more dead people still listed as active voters.
The spotlight's been on dead voters since the Florida Department of State used a new state law to get access to 90 million files about people who've died across America. The results, issued in recent weeks to Florida's 67 counties: 51,966 dead people still listed as active voters.

Basically if each state would do their job purging those who are dead, moved away, or convicted felons, that would curb almost any issue that could come from voter fraud.

Florida filed a lawsuit against DHS to gain access to the database. The Justice Department sued to block Florida's voter-purge program, arguing that it violated federal voting rights laws. Once a federal judge ruled against the Justice Department, upholding Florida's right to review voting records for noncitizens, DHS reversed itself and agreed to grant the state access to SAVE data.
