That's government intrusion again. When the government gets involved in the name of helping the poor be ready for costs to skyrocket. It happened with housing and school loans causing both to skyrocket.

And now Obamacare, again, government involvement "to help the poor", it is simply the latest instance of generational theft against younger Americans." Do young people know that the Obamacare "incentive to limit a 'full-time equivalent' work force" now means that they "who might have been hired will now likely be passed over?" If you don't believe that, then you don't understand how it works.

Government involvement to help the poor, easy money, demand increases, prices increase, and those who at one time would have been able to afford no longer can, government involvement only makes more poor.

Stay on topic & quit trying to hijack this thread.

My nephew is 25 & just got married a couple weekends ago. Honestly, I love him & his now wife but I cannot imagine being married at 25. That is so young it's almost like I think of him as a baby. Plus, they've only been dating 2 years. Just, not enough time in my opinion. I'm not sure the specific reason why people are waiting longer to get married, I guess just through time things change in a society & this is one of them.

The "value" and meaning of marriage has dropped and continues to plummet in society as fewer normal unions take place in comparison to the overall number. The concept of marriage and associated sanctity, even if that's an internal measure, is sure not what it once was. Libs can take joy in destroying it as something special to the rest of us.

Actually marriage, in wedlock birth, and low divorce rates have remained consistent for 4 yr college education women for generations. So it's not really good news if less marriage and more divorce is going to further disenfranchise the already disenfranchised. Even ultra progressive NYtimes recognizes there is a steep marriage divide between the classes:

How is that? If your Marriage is not special to you now it never will be and if it is then nothing anyone else can say or do can change that. Seems like the problem is not with the actions of others.

What do liberals have anything to do with it? Nice try but it's not relegated to a specific political party. What an absolutely stupid statement. Don't blame a political party for the downfall of your own marriage, look inside yourself.

True-- I've joked with my husband that if we divorced our insurance costs would plummet by more than 50%.

Why buy the cow, when the milk is free. Besides, ever watched Maury? Guy are having sex, without consequences, the pick up a woman, have a night out, disappear and leave the woman to the consequences, (and the rest of society).

Wanna see marriage rates go back up? I have a few suggestions. No more snap, free medical care, no more food stamps, section 8, or all the other nonsense. Identify the fathers and ensure THEY are supporting their children.

If charity is neded, then go to a church or synagogue, and ask for charity. When society doesn't support the behavior, the behavior will change.
