This whole thing is just WEIRD, and it started with the mayor and HER ordinance.
What they want is to get the IRS down there to take action against the churches' tax status.

If the subpoenas aren't quashed, those pastors should force the city to arrest them inside their churches.

You've been told the pastors and their churches aren't plaintiffs in the lawsuit.

You obviously think a plaintiff and a non-party are the same thing.

Both plaintiffs and non-parties can be subpoenaed, but use of the word 'plaintiff' is misleading because the churches didn't bring the lawsuit against the city.

The OP is not honest. The city attorneys are requesting these documents not the Mayor. Is she now on the legal team for the city? Besides, it just looks like the attorneys are doing their job in preparation for a lawsuit against a city ordinance. Calm down people.

Now how do you expect them to get their once every 10 minute rage fix if they took that time to actually read links? Don't be unreasonable, that anger is needed more than oxygen.

Half the posts in any given thread are responses to misleading thread titles and headlines instead of actual content.

Texas law is also clear that “discovery may not be used as a fishing expedition" - the Subpoenas are irrelevant to the lawsuit and will be quashed.
