Actually every human being has a right to disobey authority if they feel it is wrong. For nurses, the state statutes specifically specify it is our duty to attempt to stop a policy or treatment if it could harm a person.

What if the nurse doesn't agree with the CDC guidelines?

You will not get your wish. As I posted above, the state of Maine is backing down and she will not face a mandatory quarantine. The reason is because she is not a threat to anyone's health and they can't show otherwise.

And her license isn't in jeopardy. If she chooses to fight a quarantine order in the courts, her license isn't in jeopardy.

That's the reality.
You're mistaken.

Again, the article didn't say that's what Maine officials said. The only thing they've said thus far is that they are looking to get a court ordered blood test on her.

It would appear that Traci is keeping away from people and the only people she has contact with are her BF and the news reporters and the squirrels in the Maine forests.

You're claiming that nurses have the authority to break the law and not face penalties if they feel it could "harm a person"? That's a bold claim.

And if we start closely examining the views of every prominent person in history, we would disqualify all of them from historical praise.

The bottom line is that every person is capable of great achievements, and those that meet their potential, that do great things, are worthy of praise. We simply have to remember that every person is also a product of their times, of the cultural standards they were surrounded by. We are social beings. We can't escape what being social means, that there is a give and a take between a society and its members, that there is a relationship between a society and its members.

There is nothing anyone can do. She is not a risk and cannot be forced to quarantine without scientific evidence of benefit. It's really pretty simple.

I hope that you are correct. I would not be surprised to see a team of hazmat agents show up and her door and take her by force to quarantine. There are some really not so bright cra cra people in government and if they feel humiliated (by a girl) they could do anything.
