Did you knopw we have an Ebola Czar? Her name is Dr. Nicole Lurie. Read about her HERE

What’s particularly interesting about this discussion, then, is that nobody has even discussed the fact that the federal government not ten years ago created and funded a brand new office in the Health and Human Services Department specifically to coordinate preparation for and response to public health threats like Ebola. The woman who heads that office, and reports directly to the HHS secretary, has been mysteriously invisible from the public handling of this threat. And she’s still on the job even though three years ago she was embroiled in a huge scandal of funneling a major stream of funding to a company with ties to a Democratic donor—and away from a company that was developing a treatment now being used on Ebola patients.

Where is she now?

The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help!

This is a particularly heinous Political ad - it includes pictures of dead/dying Africans in the dirt with blood running from their mouths.

“Republican cuts kill” – new Web ad by the Agenda Project Action Fund

The Washington Post Fact Checker says .....

The absurd claim that only Republicans are to blame for cuts to Ebola research | Washington Post - 10/15/14

Obama’s Republican predecessor oversaw big increases in public-health sector spending, and both Democrats and Republicans in recent years have broadly supported efforts to rein in federal spending. Sequestration resulted from a bipartisan agreement. In some years, Congress has allocated more money for NIH and CDC than the Obama administration requested. Meanwhile, contrary to the suggestion of the DCCC ad, there never was a specific vote on funding to prevent Ebola.

There’s no doubt that spending has been cut, or at least failed to keep pace with inflation, but the fingerprints of both parties are on the knives. This blame game earns Four Pinocchios.

The "cut" were bipartisan - Obama's own 2015 Budget "cut" the NIH & CDC funding. The Sequester (driven by Obama to try and force Tax Hikes) certainly played a part, but funding has been increased by both Bush and the GOP lead House. It's partly a matter of inflation that they can manipulate numbers to try and paint the Republicans as "Killers". It's also worth noting that the NIH/CDC gets about $6.5 BILLION from Congressional Appropriations AND they get $4 BILLION from Mandatory spending by Law.

A better issue is to take a good, strong look at what they are spending the money on. I'm betting they are spending buckets of money on dumb stuff like the sex habits of shrimp and all types of Green Energy and Global Warming.
Like an Abbot and Costello movie where Costello is in a boxing ring and the ref briefs the fighters and demonstrates on Lou. He essentially gets beat up before the fight starts. So the exposure of Dem lies does their damage despite the 4 pinnochios from the WAPO.

Damage done, mission accomplished! Good work!

Money spent on other studies were more important..

Budget Cuts and Ebola | National Review Online

NIH has managed to find $1.5 million to study why lesbians have a tendency to be overweight, while gay men do not. There was also nearly $1 million for a study on the sex life of fruit flies, which revealed the shocking news that male fruit flies are sexually attracted to younger female fruit flies. Then there was $688,000 spent to determine why people like Seinfeld reruns. It is even possible that the $355,000 spent on studies of how fast husbands and wives calm down after a fight might have been better used for that elusive Ebola vaccine.

Interesting video at this site.

Start at about 5 minutes in.

How did rabies get combined with ebola?

Why?

Coincidence?

In no time at all, you'll be begging for the vaccine.

We have seen how incompetent government agency after government agency is when they are called upon. It isn't because of a lack of funding either, it's because of a lack of accountability.

Your so right. Like I give a flying hoot about Fruit Flies, male or female. Money seems to be spent on things of unimportance. There are much more important issues.

Also the "Center for Disease Control" shouldn't be wasting its $$$ on a museum for itself and liberal out reach programs to make us feel good about diversity.

Study done by the 'Atlantic Business Chronicle'.
For 2014, the CDC received an 8.2% budget increase which amounted to an additional $6.9 BILLION AND it was $300 million more than Obama requested.
Liberals lie again.
