you dont drain capital out of the economy for government waste and you dont encourage people to stay poor..

Large and small are both subject to the individuals opinion.


You should be asking what government should/should not be doing and at what point is what they are/are not doing is a step to far.

That would make for a far better thread, far more intellectual discussion.

Can someone give some examples of when America had a prosperous period as a result of having smaller government?

I agree. If you judge a government to be good just because it is small, then somalia would count as a good government. And that is clearly an absurd contention.

Actually, wasn't the time when the Articles of confederation put into place right after the revolutionary war a true small govt........and didn't it end in failure?
