That is good, though that is quite the expense for the tax payers to pick up for an insignificant amount of voter fraud that a photo ID wouldn't prevent anyway.

So you think we should have a national ID rather than just state IDs?

Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS
United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph
United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph
United States passport

But somehow I think if a person is that apathetic about getting a photo ID in this
day and age, why are they even interested in voting
It isn't for anyone to say how interested someone is when it comes to voting. They should still be allowed to vote.

That sounds reasonable, a waste of tax dollar money, but reasonable. Texas should also pick up the cost for one to get their birth certificate to insure elections are free.

I think Texas is scared of turning blue. So they will do whatever to make sure that doesn't happen. lol Actually, it's not funny because it's true. My question is....how many elections have been turned because of illegal voters, which I assume Texas is trying to prevent.

They know they can't prevent it, it's just the last clawing and grasping at their elite's perceived superior worth.

"Texas" can't "be scared." Texas is a state, not a person, and each state's political identity is derived from it's population. If the population is more "blue" than "red" then the state will become blue, or vice versa. So how is that scary? It is what it is.

To address your other question - Texas has already held two elections with the ID law in place, and minorities have turned out in the same numbers as before the law. So apparently the law isn't impeding minority voting.

Since Voter ID has been installed in Texas, voter participation is up 10% from past elections.

The general election has already happened in Texas? At least you could do is wait until after November before you start saying if voter participation is up or down.

The primaries already happened and we had to show our IDs.

Early voting starts tomorrow.

And none of those 600,000 "disenfranchised" complained that they couldn't vote in the primaries.
