Because their production of waste exceeds my grocery shopping, i simply purchased a thousand bags from Amazon.
I don't think u kitties care how it is disposed. I empty mine into the outside garbage bin the day before pick up.

Yes, we had paper bags, a much better solution.

define recycled

do you mean thousands put together and melted down.......

or

recycling them , as in reusing them

I always (minus leaky meats or milk) keep the bags for garbage.....and especially dirty stinky diapers

the cloth bags are a petri dish of bacteria

paper bags rip and spill your groceries

the plastic bags (which are now biodegradable) are the best and wisest choice

Yes I have separate bags that I use for meat and veggies. I also use a backpack for canned goods. Finally the bags do get washed, it was something mentioned to me a number of years ago as a good idea to avoid contamination.

Are you opposed to the ability of a state or a municipality to decide if they want plastic or not?

Many, many municipalities, across the US ban plastic bags and not all of them lean liberal.

Many issues cross cross political lines.

a statewide ban exists in Hawaii as all of the most populous counties in the state prohibit non-biodegradable plastic bags at checkout, as well as paper bags containing less than 40 percent recycled material.

Four states – Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania— are considering a fee or tax on the distribution of ALL bags which a shopper will have to pay, either directly or indirectly, with proposed fees ranging from 1 cent to 15 cents per bag. Depending on the state, the revenue would be used to improve recycling practices and encourage recycling, or help fund capital expenditures at state parks and historic sites. A portion of the revenue could also be returned to retail stores.

There is a referendum campaign against this law. They are currently collecting signatures and paying $1.50 per signature. I expect the price to go up to $2.25-3 per signature within a month or so. So if you want to overturn this law, you can actually make decent money working towards your goal. From what I've heard, it is an extremely easy petition. People are getting 150-200 signatures per day.
