understanding the difference between state, local and federal governments...priceless
Federal, state, county, local = GOVERNMENT

So if question asked, should **state** government mandate 35 h workweek by law, be better?

When I have someones house torn apart, I have to tell them, I have to stop, as I am at 35 hours? See you next week.

Sounds like union work.

You don't need to stop, but you will get payed extra for overtime.

Why should you get paid for hours you didn't work? It doesn't matter if it's salary or not. Salary's are based on a 40 hour week. If the work week is shorter, the salaries should be adjusted downward.

Did you see the description of goal or task based employment, rather than a clock punching model? It already exists in some fields. I'm salaried, and my salary is to ensure that my shop runs smoothly, that we meet company standards and bring in revenue. It isn't tied directly to hours. I work anywhere from 35 - 50 hours, because I'm not hourly.

Salaries are not necessarily "based on 40 hours."

If you want to adjust someone's pay downward every week they come up a little short on butt in chair hours, are you going to bump them up when they hit 60 hours one busy week?

What you really want is overtime to be paid at 35 hours.
You don't communicate well. I can see why you only Substitute.

I also assume you are not married, have no kids and still probably live at home with mom.

You think you'll ever take responsibility of real life ?

We are not even going to discuss the underbidding of the "one price fits all" mentality.
I could work 40 hours a week and not make a dime, if I underbid.

Guess you should stop driving on roads and walking on sidewalks since those are paid by the government and you admit you get it "free". You aren't pulling your weight.
