Could be a fake story but it sounds cool.
Interesting.....sounds reasonable! Sure some were not welcome while alive.

I know they're coming out by the thousands and complaining.....1 man 1 complaint!

Can anyone tell us why Humane Societies will not adopt black cats during the weeks before Halloween? If the cats were to be treated well, I'm sure the HS would not hold up an adoption.

There are all sorts of legends about how some of these customs evolved.
Here are a couple:
Why Do We Trick-or-Treat on Halloween?
Why Do We Dress Up on Halloween?

There are many more.

I think it time for Pat Robertson to retire. The man has made some absolutely offensive and asinine statements over the years. I'm a Christian and I celebrate Halloween, it's just harmless fun.

There are a few very Christian *black women in my office who believe this too. They put signs on their houses on Halloween to stay away and that Jesus is there. If you mention Halloween, they get very uncomfortable.

* Disclaimer: It just so happens that is who the ultra-religous are up here. I would not doubt you could find white counterparts elsewhere.
They may be jehovah's witnesses, who follow the american puritans in not celebrating any pagan holidays, including those that have been "christianized".

Robertson sounds like he's in sync with the secularists who also have Halloween dead in their sights. Its a Holiday that promotes violence( horror and slasher flicks) and vandalism, and a belief in witchcraft and the afterlife. Not to mention it centers around giving away candy which is now in opposition to their concerns with an obesity epidemic.
Its a fun holiday with pagan and Christian roots and I'm reminded of two local dinguses( atheists) who were interviewed on radio who protested the holiday as stupid and backwards. Bible thumpers, atheists, just back off and shut your stupid yaps. Leave our Holidays alone, people.
