Personally I have no problem with a employer paying their workers higher. there is room in this economy for all kids of businesses executing on all kinds of niches.

If you think such things are important, vote with your dollars as appropriate.

As for me, I prefer Amazon to Wal-Mart . . .wal-mart to any convenience store. . .and if I could save 5 cents a gallon on a automated pump system without anyone working there I would do it in their heartbeat

to each their own. How well a worker is treated by an employer (within certain norms such as no harassment, discrimination, etc) isn't something I worry about. As long as we are at will, i'm going to assume your working there because you want to. So really the only thing that matters to me is - how the worker treats me as a customer.

Ehhh...bull****.

I can't pull up the link (I'm using my phone), but regular store clerks can make 40+k a year.

There's a reason why their turnover rate is miniscule dude.

That reason is pay and benefits.

Remember this only the store manager they are talking about. There is only one of those in each store. Most store managers make pretty decent money and it goes by the COL of that given area. This isn't as unprecedented as all of you are making it out to be. It's good but not unprecedented.

I doubt a store clerk is making 40k. Stop the nonsense. Your link mentions NOTHING of anyone other than the one store manager.

No, she's right. You screwed the pooch.

I wasn't saying anything close to what you accused me of saying. I didn't say or even imply that they weren't being paid enough.

But that's ok Bammer. You'll figure it out eventually.

No way in this universe is regular store clerk making 40k a year without a whole lot of overtime.

often the implication is what works for one employer (QT or Whole Foods or Costco) would automatically work for all retailers serving all niches.

So . .I would only say that what works for QT may not work for Wal-Mart. . but it works for QT. So that is good for them, and i'm sure they get better workers than Wal-mart
