It is 2014, and the global and domestic economy is doing great. House prices are rising to 2008 levels and higher due to a mass increase of international cash-buyers, the Dow has been reaching all-time-highs, and unemployment across the board has been decreasing.

A lot of people believe that the next financial crisis will result in the collapse of modern-day society and the current economic systems of the world (capitalism, socialism, communism and fascism). The next financial crisis is inevitable due to the way the current economic system works (fraction-reserve banking, etc) and the estimated shelf-life of this current system is <100 years. A lot of you won't be around to witness the collapse, as it could be within 20, 40, 60 or 80 years from now, and since most of you here are elderly, I highly doubt you will witness any of it.

The Economic Collapse scenario has many different paths, some which may lead to a more prosperous system and form of geopolitical economics, others may lead to mutually assured destruction via global warfare or mass social disruption.

Where do you want to be when the Collapse begins?
What assets do you want to possess during the Collapse?
Where do you believe will be the best place to be during the Collapse? (Not limited to the U.S.)
When do you think the Collapse will occur?
Do you believe it will lead to war with Russia or China?
Do you believe the effects of the imminent societal collapse after the economic collapse will be worse due to multiculturalism?

Home with my family.
Guns, ammo, and plenty of food and water.
Home with my family, with the possibility of moving to a remote location.
Not sure.
Doubt it.
I think those of all cultures that rely soley on government bennies will be the ones hit hardest. Once the bennies are cut off, the law of the jungle will take over. It will be worse in large urban areas than places further away from the big city.

At any rate I hope it doesn't happen.

I think it will eventually happen and when it does it isn't going to be good.

Here is a good read , although fiction it portrays what life will most likely be like.

Why didn't you just bump one of the threads from 2013 instead? Or from 2012...2011...2005....1999 (Y2K!!!!) or before?

It will be a war with China that is the impetus for global collapse. If trade between China and the US stops, the world will be in for a world of economic hurt.

As long as the Federal reserve still has access to paper, ink, and printing presses, you aren't going to see any kind of collapse.

I think the first dominoes to fall will be in Europe. It will cascade to the US via Britain.

I agree, if there were to be a collapse somewhere, I'd bet on some of the weaker economies in southern Europe.

Why else would federal agencies be stockpiling ammunition like crazy and be trying to prevent citizens from doing the same?
The collapse will be in the banking industry. But the Fed will be there to "help" pick up the pieces. I'm sure they'll gladly lend the money to keep things going, maybe purchasing national assets( federal land) at fire sale prices.
