It often results in dishonesty and a lack of spontaneity.

BTW, I don't like it when posters ask for opinions on controversial subjects yet neglect to offer theirs.

So, what are your thoughts?

Ah No, I come from Mormon upbringing, I happen to know what I have heard. My older relatives did use "thee" & "thou" when talking about the Bible, not when talking to each other. The King James is full of it, a lot of people learned how to read from the only book available. Even during their Bible studies I would hear it, it is NO BIG DEAL age and what people are taught should always be considered. By the way all those relatives are gone now. Time does change the way people talk, can't discredit those who grew up a certain when words were different.

This is important because Bundy was one who was beat up by the left for using a 'word' that has been used by many, even their own.

It's PC to attack the cowboy way and at least when those people were in charge, people were not breaking into the WH.

Thanks for a good laugh and you are oh so right. I don't practice PC either. I don't insult people but I don't go out of my way to make them feel all warm and fuzzy either by using PC language.

Hurt more than help.

It's creating an angry backlash.

It hurts society in two very distinct ways:
  1. It creates a 4th branch of government - the court of public opinion, that can and does actually manifest its power via the other three official branches
  2. It abridges the freedom of speech by virtue of the newly created 4th branch of government
Additionally, the rules are never quite clear on what is and is not politically correct, what is and is not a violation, what is and is not due process, burden of proof or other associated rights within the justice system, and is largely based on the whim of unelected and very unaccountable members of the media-political complex.

Nothing says tyranny as well as mob rule of arbitrary law, and few things in the modern US are as arbitrary as the rules of PC within the court of public opinion.

For example - murder (for the most part) is a crime. It has defined parameters, like assailant, victim, weapon, motive, etc. Everyone knows the rules for that crime. They're mostly standard, and generally adhered to. Now, take the PC crime of saying the "N-word". Well, it is and isn't a crime, depending on the speaker (the aforementioned abridging of free speech), it can actually be applied to a codified crime as an aggravating circumstance, but only according to the non-codifed rules of PC-ness, such as a white person getting hate crime tacked onto regular crime for saying, but a black person being exempt from the hate crime bonus added to their crime, and the rules are never really understood and kinda follow the "can't define evil or pornography, but you know it when you see it" classification process.

This hurts society because we have no idea from one day to the next what the heck the laws even are, thus we become afraid of each other, thus we become more divided, antagonistic, etc. This is, by the way, Leviathan's goal. Keep us all at each other's throats or bunkered in fear of each other, and we won't notice their tyrannies.

The entire grievance industry, whether it be gender, race, sexual orientation, economic status or whatever, is based on cashing in on that fear and antagonism.

PC is bad juju, boys and girls, but it's here to stay and is only going to get worse.

Big fat doobie is offensive to big fat fatties. Please us less offensive phrases such as 'large doobies' or 'bigger doobies'.
