I assume there will be more subponeas, that will waste more tax payer money. They certainly won't get past 59 seats in the Senate, so the dems will certainly filibuster any effort to defund or repeal Obamacare.

Of course the same thing could be said if dems take control. Its obvious that neither party has much interest in working across the aisle to help the nation.
I think there is more of a chance Obama becomes more compromising if the GOP wins the senate.

He will have to start using vetoes and Republicans then may move to the middle to get something passed - and then Obama move to the middle too.

There are over 350+ bills sitting on Harry Reids desk.
It will probably take them the 2 years just to read through them.

Passing a Budget would be a great start.

In my view, both parties these days for the most part are just a different side of the same coin. Little to nothing will get done, pretty much what we have now. I think that's actually a good thing as what's good/right for the people and the country seems to have been pushed far back in the queue for some time now. Though I think the odds may go up for hearings, investigations, perhaps even talk of impeachment if the Rep's gain control of the Senate which seems almost a given based on all the polling I've read.

A founding father, John Adams, warned us about the situation we are in now yet most of the sheep seem to be asleep in this country to it all:

"There is Nothing I dread more then a division of the Republic into two great parties, each arranged under its own leadership and converting measures in opposition of each other. This in my humble opinion is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our constitution."

If the GOP takes the Senate, they did not win it, the (D)'s lost it. People aren't voting for the GOP they are voting against the (D)'s.

Adams was also a one term President, and not a very good one at that. Adams was a staunch federalist who kept Washington's cabinet, and then refused to work with them - particularly his Secretary of State, Thomas Jefferson, who Adams beat in 1796 by just 3 Electoral College votes.

Furthermore, the quote you cited comes from a letter Adams wrote to Jonathan Jackson on October 2, 1780. Three years before the Revolutionary War ended, seven years before the US Constitution was even drafted, and nine years before the US existed.

When you don't compromise at all a even a little bit goes a long way to becoming "more compromising".

They will complain about Obamacare as a major campaign issue (but they could not stop Obamacare if they tried, by 2016 Obamacare will be entirely implemented.)
Can the GOP ever really stop Obamacare? - Page 2 - CBS News

They will also talk about welfare problems, emigration problems, and US government agencies spying on Americans (but they will put forth no legislation to solve those problems.)

They will block all min wage increases, middle class tax cuts, and small business tax cuts.
GOP Senators Reject Tax Cuts for Middle Class - CBS News
Republicans block small-business tax break on procedural vote - Los Angeles Times

Then they will put all their energy into passing a tax cut package for corporations and the rich like these,

Romney's Economic Plan Includes $6.6 Trillion Tax Cut For The Rich And Corporations | ThinkProgress
Rand Paul's fix for Detroit: lower taxes for the rich, more pollution & lower wages for the poor

They will also hand out corporate favors like these,
Big Oil's Influence in Washington . NOW | PBS

According to the Heritage Foundation GW Bush gave large corporations $1.2 trillion dollars in federal subsidies.
RealClearMarkets - Do Crony Handouts Have a Stranglehold On the GOP?

Then their corporate tax cuts will decrease our governments tax revenues, and their corporate subsidies will increase government spending (and then our deficits and national debt growth will shoot through the roof, just like it did with Reagan and GW Bush.)
http://www.skymachines.com/US-Nation...ental-Term.htm

Or the short answer, "their platform is to give the rich tax cuts and grow our national debt."
