Why do you think public schools exist?
To educate the population. They're failing at that, miserably. Only about 1/3 of all public school students graduate high school with basic 12th grade proficiency in math and reading. I posted the NAEP link.

Bingo.

The rest of your statement is inconsequential. All children in the US have a right to a quality public education, period. Stripping public schools and replacing them with vouchers removes that right. Privatizing education makes a child's future dependent on the income of his or her parents.

Education is the greatest equalizer. It is the most important variable in socioeconomic mobility. It is no coincidence that states with the weakest public schools have a correlation to the lowest levels of social mobility.

Choose a better education ? your side is governing the state. They shouldnt have to choose a better education, your red states should be providing better education from the beginning.

Your own argument was that blue states had worse education, so by your logic there shouldnt be a need for school vouchers in red states.

and they didnt get sued simply because they wanted to provide vouchers, it was because the vouchers were going to fund private schools with public money.

He's just going to argue in circles.

Basically, conservatives don't believe in public education. Public education is contrary to their views of social hierarchy.

I posted the public school NAEP proficiency percentages. Have you noticed the HUGE race-based gap?

Either Blacks as a group are just simply much less intelligent, or they are deliberately being systemically trapped and under-educated in abysmal public schools to keep as many as possible dumb, poor, and therefore voting Democrat for welfare benefits.

It's a guaranteed Democrat voter base thing. Like LBJ said...

Same public school systems. Very different race-based results. And most of the top 100 worst schools are in blue cities/states.

Like I repeat, correlation does not equal causation.

You never explained why...

All that proves is that blacks live in the worst public school districts (which is a product of Housing segregation). Public schools seem to have no problem educating white kids...

Democrats oppose the school vouchers that would give them a chance at a better education, and upward social mobility.

Read what lifelong Democrat Michelle Rhee has to say about that:

Why are they on welfare? Why are the poor?
They're being systemically under-educated, and therefore socioeconomically oppressed for the purpose of acting as a guaranteed Dem voter block. And that has been working very well for Democrats for decades, hasn't it?
