Actually no. That is using the false assumption that the government actually requires your tax dollars to operate (we saw during the shutdown that is 100% false). The government doesn't need to collect any taxes to spend money. It issues currency at will, limitlessly.

All economics comes down to motive. Taxation is about values, not actual revenue. It is all made up bull**** from the government. I offered a plant that will allow over 99% of Americans to pay no income tax, and most people are against it because they desperately want to be in the 1%, or want to protect the 1%. It's hilarious.
Why not? Why do you care? You will be paying no Federal income tax.

umm, have you ever had a poor man offer you a job? "Most people are against it" because they oppose the near-total destruction of the economy by eating the rich--who employ most of us. The only hilarious thing is that you haven't caught on to the importance of wealth and capital at work to the working and middle classes. Unless you are aiming at a return to subsistence agriculture?
Yes, everyone's tax should be zero. Why are you objecting to that?

What does being rich have to do with 99% of Americans paying no income tax?

Economics is about allocation of resources. People like you victimize the 1% while expecting them to pay for everything. You guys still can't grasp how regressive taxes are in the countries you wish America was like. By the way, when the rates were 90% in the past nobody actually paid them. In one year - 1937 I believe - not a single tax return paid the top marginal rate. First, those rates were on income that was in the millions. Second, taxpayers just restructure their finances. Few are going to give away 90%, especially when the other 99% pay zero. That giant sucking sound Ross Perot mentioned would return on steroids.

I call it the desire to be a success, that doesn't just fall into your lap for most people. I expect to be rewarded for my efforts. If there is no reward who's going to take my place, the guy flipping burgers at McDonald's? He's not ging to do what I do, that's why he's working at Mcdonald's in the first place.
