True, but then again, no one was actively trying to infect themselves and spread the disease.....
If a group of say, 20 terrorists came here and tried to spread it, un detected, before they got too sick, that would have the potential to do a lot of damage.
Doesn't make any sense. How would this work exactly, that is - logistically? There are MUCH better ways of killing people en mass. We have many examples in history. Some very recent. You're going to drive yourself insane worrying about something that is NOT going to happen. Okay?
The most recent talks took place in a “jihadist chat room,” related to the Islamic State, in mid-September. The use of Ebola as a poisonous weapon against the United States” was the topic of conversation
Okay, I've been saying this since it (the outbreak)started.
Congratulations for ISIS not being complete idiots. Of course Ebola is a sound choice for a terror weapon. . .so would be small pox if they could get it. Ebola would make a very good terror weapon. . .and wouldn't run the risk of spreading far beyond intended target (as a Ebola infection is easily contained)
the question is, how do you use it. . .not the easiest thing to transport.

so how would they do this? The issue is the disease isn't very infectious at the early stages. Even if it was, it needs to get in the blood stream.
I think you would get 1 guy with Ebola, get him nice and sick, and collect (use protection) all of his puke, and bleed him dry at the end. Then soak bbs or shotgun pellets in the blood/puke. . .and use it in a bomb.
One consideration about whether such biological warfare may be used by the ISIS members is whether they may consider such an action as making them 'unclean' and hence not entitled to the rewards of Heaven.
At the least, to purposely introduce a deadly organism into one's body would, in many faiths, be considered 'suicide', prohibited by most religions.
Of course, while I realize that the ISIS nutters may consider suicide an honor (using a bomb), perhaps unclean germs would be against their beliefs.
Really, all they have to do is to hint at such action, and the weak-minded over here will attend to the rest.
the economic crash....was due to liberal globalist policies...especially 2...jobs going overseas (done by liberals), and the housing boom/bust that started in 1995
Both of those were quite enthusiastically supported by both parties all along.

Otherwise, your not getting far.
Still, not something i'll be worrying about.
Ebola on dry surfaces only lives for a few hours. Containerized as a fluid, it will only live outside a body for several days. There just isn't any reasonably reliable way of getting it from Africa to the US in time except by air travel.
Getting to Mexico and then attempting to cross the border by coyote methods? Not likely.

Exploiting the fearful among your enemy to carry your propaganda has always been a good tactic for undermining an enemy. You can see right in this thread the sort of people who will gladly propagate a whisper campaign of "ISIS will infect us all with Ebola". They must be laughing their Muslim rearsides off.
Didn't this nation once talk about how the only thing to fear was fear itself? Man, but these days are over.

You are right and I hear that Emirates and Saudia Airlines has nonstop flights to NY JFK and Washington Dulles every day. The 1st class or Business class is quite dreamy almost like being in heaven with 79 Virgins.

Or maybe break into a US lab or pay someone off? Or more likely maybe the whole story is just more boogieman hype?
Chimera (virus)
quote:
a "new hybrid microorganism created by joining nucleic acid fragments from two or more different microorganisms in which each of at least two of the fragments contain essential genes necessary for replication."
quote from previous patent:
the invention provides vaccine preparations, comprising the inventive hEbola virus, including recombinant and chimeric forms of the virus, nucleic acid molecules comprised by the virus, or protein subunits of the virus. The invention also provides a vaccine formulation comprising a therapeutically or prophylactically effective amount of the inventive hEbola virus described above, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
