I watched a bit of Matthews last night on MSNBC. He sounded downright rational compared to the other fruit loops on the panel.

Really, it doesn't matter how "bright" someone is.

It's what they choose to fill their minds with as a frame of reference.

Stick the most brilliant philosophy professor in the middle of ranch in Montana's Hi-Line and he'll be incredibly stupid, no?

Matthews has surrounded himself with liberalism and the media and political "elite", please don't expect him to know anything about reality. Bright or not, he's simply missing the information required to be sensible the real world.

Interesting thread. It is very puzzling as from the comments, it appears many of the posters appear to be of the opinion that they are much brighter and have accomplished much more than Chris Matthews. Following are his bio and achievements.

It would be even more interesting to hear the critics' achievements and qualifications to judge someone who has accomplished so much.

Accomplished what?

Matthews has done absolutely NOTHING of note.

Being a media person is not an accomplishment of any substance.

Have to agree. He kept having to remind the others on the panel that the Democrats were losing and losing huge. He seemed angry that they wouldn't even face that simply reality.
