The same "war on women", "Republicans are racists", and "the rich need to pay their fair share" garbage that they always do. What else did the Democrat party give their followers to vote for? It's the same thing they always give their followers to vote for. The Democrats haven't done anything but that for a decade.
I don' believe not voting had anything to do with anyone's color. As much as their party not having any substance. And people clearly got tired so tired of the Bull the Dems were feeding them. You can only take so much garbage in you know.

Then you stop take a look, at what has not happened to you that was promised. Problem is politicians need to stop making excuses for themselves when things don't go there way. And stop and realize they are a big part of the problem. Excuses is also something tiring and old, and people get plain sick and disgusted of the lies and excuses.

IN Obama's 73-minute speech, he said, "To the 35% who voted I hear you, and to the 55% that didn't vote I hear you too"

He emphasized that it wasn't so much who voted, but those who didn't! It's a way of spinning the truth to be something it isn't. Only a narcissist of the highest order could literally spin a historic drudging into the opposite in his mind. And now that spin is making its way into the party lies.

Maybe in a couple weeks they will have convinced themselves they actually won.

Oh they're winners alright.........real winners.

Democrats should not simply dismiss this election to poor turnout. This is at least the second mid-term where their constituency stayed home. They need to figure out why their voters are not enthusiastic at mid terms as much as the Republicans have to figure out how to appeal to a broader constituency in the general election.

(remember the 2012 election when polls showed Romney would win, because they didn't poll minorities enough?) As such, the minority turn out was low, very low. Thats part of the reason the lost.

Run on getting Bin Laden. Run on saving GM. Run on the ACA. Run on the minimum wage. Run on immigration. They did none of those things. You're right, they did the war on women, and tax the rich, which doesn't work to bring out the base.

They lost on all of these counts.
These are some of the things that inspired people to vote Republican.

Again, voter turnout was lower in 2014 than in 2010, the last mid term. In general, when few people vote republicans win, when a lot of people vote democrats win.

What about Republicans gaining nearly 12% more of the millenials vote, 8% more of the Hispanic vote, 11% more of women, and nearly 6% more of the black vote?

No matter how this data is digested, it spells a moderate shift the left didn't expect; and certainly not in just 2 years!

What will happen to the DNC if Republicans continue to make these inroads? Will the left become the party of self-loathing white men and women?
-----------------

Look, the mid-terms are notoriously low voter turnout. Using low voter turnout to dismiss what actually happened is an exercise in ignorance, and simply foolish. The Rs swept because people are tired of being pitted against each other for the sake of votes and power mongering. They won because their message makes more sense.

The Senate was given a second chance in 2012, along with Obama... and they did NOTHING but squander it.

There was no gain, more republicans voted in this election. Turnout was 36% of registered voters. May be a record low.

EBT/WIC/Welfare handout day isn't until the first Friday of each month, if they changed it to a Tuesday then the Dems would have a reason to leave the house /sarc

That is absolutely incorrect!

The turnout for some states were actually higher than in 2010.
Where Were All the Dems? Here's Who Turned Up to Vote - NBC News

The exit polls do not lie:
https://hotair.com/archives/2014/11/...op-after-2012/

Blacks:
Support for Democrats was down slightly among black voters. In 2012, black voters backed the president by an 87-point margin; in 2010, black voters supported Democratic House candidates by 80 points, per exits. Last night, they backed Democrats by 79 points. Reduced support plus reduced turnout multiplies the effect for Republicans.

Demographic shift:
Republicans picked up double-digit percentage gains in the 18-29YO demo and the Latino demo, and eight points among African-Americans. Asian-Americans moved significantly to the GOP over 2012, and even over 2010. Republicans even improved 10% among those earning under $50K, which should have Democrats very worried, and among women, independents, seniors, and so on.

If you can take this data and say "There was no gain, more republicans voted in this election" with a straight face, then you can deflect and deny anything.
