I'm not even sure he would work with "the other side" unwillingly either.
He is a in mature childish, ignorant bullish person, that must get his way at all cost. And hit the road Jack, if you do not agree with his wishes.
What kind of Person is this let alone a President. He was never going to want to come to terms with any compromise with the other side, and has made his opinions and feelings known.

Obama laid low during the midterms supposedly to help Democrats. That strategy failed and now it is time he gets out his pen and his phone and does what he can to accomplish what the people want.

The writers of the Constitution intended for Congress to be the most powerful branch of government.
New laws are first introduced as "bills" in the two bodies of Congress. A bill has to be approved by both the House and the Senate through a series of votes and debates. Once Congress has approved a bill, it is sent to the president. The president may sign it into law, send it back to Congress to be changed, or veto the bill.
Abuse of power or failure to uphold these responsibilities cannot be tolerated. The Constitution gives the House of Representatives the right to impeach. Impeachment means that a charge of misconduct is filed. A majority of the members of the House must vote for these charges in order to impeach the president.
After the charges of misconduct are filed, the Senate has the power to try impeachment cases like a court. 2/3rds of the senators must vote for conviction.

The Obama presidency: The House passed bipartisan bills and sent them to the Senate. Harry Reid acted as Obama's blocker on bills he knew Obama would not like. Obama then accused R's of obstructionists and projected Obama's do nothing policy onto Republicans.
Just like Democrats passed Obamacare with only Democratic votes, Obama threatens to bypass congress playing politics at the expense of Americans, acting as a dictator who gets angry dare anyone disagree with him. Of course Valerie Jarret (born in Iran) his guiding him.

It's not Obama's fault. He's been the same person his whole life. The fault lies with the people who voted for him just so they could feel good about themselves (this does not include the people who totally buy his radical lefty ideology) and the media that covered for him. The latter didn't begin to whine until he started going after them or cutting them out and they're only half out of the bag now because to come fully out, they'd have to admit they were stupid, blind and biased back in 2008.
