Why not thank the neighboring countries that helped weaken the control the Russians had on East Germany and the people of Germany who actually worked to bring down that wall instead of the guy who just gave speeches from a safe distance?

Because the world leaders are the ones who shine a huge spotlight on things to get them changed. Sure wish Obama knew this.

I was in London that night, 25 years ago. The BBC had full, live coverage. It was an amazing night. Growing up there seemed little likelihood of the Soviet Union dismantling, much less the Berlin Wall.
