If the average plan is 75% now, at 5.7% growth, the average plan hits the cap in 6 years. Of course the cap will also grow slightly, but not a lot. So maybe the average plan hits the cap in 8-10 years. Gruber's estimate was that virtually all would hit the cap in 20 years, so that seems to be all reasonably in accord.

Bottom line, unless the "Cadillac" tax is changed before 2018, it's going to hit a whole lot of taxpayers who are driving Chevys.
And of course, this will happen under the next administration, so Democrats will proclaim that Obama saved us all from that terrible ACA bill and those mean Republicans are enforcing it..

Look at the left having their fake outrage over the GOP filing suit to enforce Obamacare.. They are more upset with the fact that the rule of law should be follows, than Obama denying the benefits of ACA to the american public

I don't doubt that they might try that, but I don't think it will work. Zero GOP votes in both House and Senate for Obamacare.

You do bring another point though, and that is about King vs. Burwell is going to the SCOTUS, and I have to think there is at least a 50-50 chance that the admin will lose. I don't see how you can rewrite plain language. We will know by June 2015. If that happens, Obamacare plunges into chaos.

They do have a right to rule as they see fit, right up until you harbor and sponcer a terrorist group that attacks another country, then all bets are off.

It is obvious that the intent of the law was to use the subsidies as a mechanism to encourage/force states to create their own exchanges.

Now, once again under Obama, Democrats have to cheer on a distortion AND the rewriting of a law by the executive branch to fix an Obama debacle.

Yep, always forcing. The tyranny of Obama and his administration. The dead weights would sell this entire country to the devil for free stuff.

The gift that keeps on giving huh? If this country had any integrity left everyone involved in this monstrosity should be forced to resign.
If more than 1 republican in Washington had any integrity, they would join Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) in his plan to fix Obamacare. But if republicans fixed Obamacare then they would not be able to use Obamacare as a political weapon to win elections.

You created it alone you can fix it alone or watch it die.

Only those where they go beyond what is allowed in compensation then its taxable. Levels taxable playing field loophole of compensation versus income. Everyone allowed same deduction for medical compensation not taxed. Majority of employer policies are not cadillac tho.

McConnell to Obama " I have a phone and pen"

If the {R}s were smart they could use the situation as leverage, we will vote for this fix if you agree to these cuts. Of course that could back fire and Obama will try to EO his own fix. I think they should try it anyways and force Obama in the barn for some horse trading. The {R}s should not give Obama something for nothing.
