University of Tennessee drops 'lady' from women's team name | On Air Videos | Fox News

What in the world has gotten in to this country? So many people worrying about offending this group or that group. How in the hell is it sexist to refer to women as ladies?! I dont even know what to say, its just mind boggling and stupid. We're like a nation of cowards who bend to just about anyones whining.

Its one thing after another with this stuff and it gets dumber and dumber. Seriously, its now sexist to refer to call women ladies....

It's not officially weird yet. That would be when they change the teams name to purple
penguins.

Who was whining?

I watched the clip and no real information was put forth. (but then again, it's Fox)

Seems like it was a decision made by the college, not anyone protesting about it.

They have a name that is Confederate-derived and they are worried about the word, "Lady"?

Are you saying the University made a decision for no reasons? LOL

Let's not pretend there are NO miserable Chronically Offended freaks living in the country! Every day, you now have bunch of people trying to figure out how they can be aggrieved so they can claim their own delicious little slice of victimhood.

The only way to avoid offending people is to “say nothing, do nothing and be nothing.”

The college made a stupid decision because claiming to be “offended” on someone else’s behalf rarely accomplishes anything meaningful.

Not to be pedantic, but the term "Volunteer State" comes from the number of soldiers Tennessee sent to fight in the War of 1812.

Nevermind, that was pedantic.

Well then, can we please lobby the government to tell bars and nightclubs to ban "ladies night" too. After all it can be considered sexist!
