That is the most pathetic speech I have ever heard.
Legal Immigrant and illegal alien are NOT synonymous.
The thing I agree with is, that both DEMS/REPUBS have held the same
stance the last 1/2 century. Not enforcing our immigration laws.
We reap what we sow.
^^^
And, why would illegals even care about a threat of deportation if Obama clearly stated
tonight, to deport is not realistic.
A lot of folks sacrificed to come here the right way. It's a shame that THEY are not
given the credit, that this President showers on an illegal, frilly dress and all.
Three degrees? Is that the new standard to be able to get a college job these days???
Sounds more like a professional student to me...
He lost me when he spewed the usual apologist ******* line "As a nation of immigrants, we..." Last time I checked, we're around 85% native born. Look "Native" up in Websters.
Anyway, here's to hoping the Raiders upset the Chiefs!
The overwhelming majority of our ancestors came to America over the past 300/400 years. Id consider that a nation of immigrants
I hope this kick starts congress into action. There are millions of immigrants who came here with a work Visa and just never left. These are smart, well trained individuals from all over the world.
Do you think we should deport a family of a natural born citizen?
Like I said, I hope congress acts and acts soon to reform the immigration system
You're right we need comprehensive immigration reform. Obama is trying to walk a fine line but will please very few. The conditions he proposes seem reasonable enough. However, our borders have been too porous for over 30 years and no one has done much of anything about it regardless of party. I could agree with some of his actions and thought he gave a decent speech, but ultimately Congress must act and work with the President. Serious action is needed.
the problem is nobody is picking up the carpet to see the real dirt, why we have illegals here? because there is work ---who gives them work? the same big mouths screaming NO-WAY- not godly- tyrant---- yea corporations give them work...we have a political mess. is just like the drug problem... BIG money like hedge funds is what moves the drugs into this country- stand for truth before you cast your stone!

Moving immigration officials from hunting families and towards the border for new comers will help. He has deported more illegal immigrants then the last three Presidents.
I really hope the house takes up the Senate bill. Remove the pathway to citizenship if thats the sticking point, then send it back to the Senate.
We'll see over the next few weeks how and if congress acts

What specifically needs reform? I hear this all the time from people - we need reform. So you tell me, what specifically needs to be done? Amnesty is not reform - that's just circumventing the whole system.

And there's the rub. Obama said he wouldn't even consider a bill without a pathway to citizenship. The House already said if that pathway to citizenship was removed, it would be an easy sell. So who should do the compromising here?
