Christmas/Holiday season is here once again, and the American Family Association does its annual list over national retail store that recognizes Christmas in various ways and different levels. Believe it or not, the list is spreading around rapidly and millions of people do boycott stores that refuses to decorate for Christmas, or avoid the term 'Christmas' on signage or whatsoever. Because of that, many stores now do mention Christmas back again due to fear of losing business to other Christmas friendly stores.

As we may all know due to political correctness, despite Christmas being a national holiday celebrated by around 96% of Americans, and the most popular holiday and season of the year where millions of Americans are getting employed specificially for the Christmas holiday, yet some stores refuses to mention the word 'Christmas' in one way or another.

AFA Naughty or Nice list over national retail stores

What do you think? As you can see, most national retail stores are Christmas friendly. Why do you think some aren't?

My religion doesn't depend on retailers' holiday strategy or naming practices.
If anyone's that weak as a Christian, there are bigger issues.

Ok. So, if the business doesn't use the word Christmas enough they are on a "naughty list"? How silly.

I believe they are on the list if they totally avoid anything to do with Christmas.

Company may use "Christmas" sparingly in a single or unique product description, but as a company, does not recognize it

Victoria's Secret is on the "Naughty" list.

Default I'm from NYC

As we have been saying for DECADES, Happy Holidays. Why? Did you forget Hannukah, American Family Association? You wouldn't HAVE any Christmas without that.

You may be shocked but Hanukkah is a minor holiday and regular working days for Jews (even Orthodox). In Israel few people even celebrate it. It's only in America and few other places where they brought the importance of the minor holiday due to not being left alone during Christmas season, particularly for Jewish kids. Only 1.7% of Americans observe Hanukkah anyway, and it's a regional thing really.

Well, seeing as you graciously gives me the choice: I don't believe it. The AFA massively overestimates its clout. Always has.

Anyway, here's my preferred take: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s66uj5bET_I
