I thought this article was interesting as I have been thinking the same thing.

There needs to be a discussion on personal responsibility in this country and I think Pharrell is very brave for speaking out about this.

Unfortunately political correctness means that we can't have this discussion.

It's gotten to the point where stating the obvious as Pharrell is , has become 'controversial' .

Many are outraged at Pharrell’s suggestion that Michael Brown was a bully on the day he died. However, others say the larger picture is about parental responsibility and the perceptions teens and young adults create that ups their chances of a confrontation with police.

Pharell Williams strikes me as a very wise young man with a grasp of reality.

Translation: he is a good black man because he agrees with my white-washed point of view?

If you are auditioning to be a mind reader you failed miserably. I confess to watching The Voice and became a fan of Pharell long before he spoke out regarding this issue.

He actually seems like a really decent person in general . I remember reading an article about him where it said he treated everyone with respect, the same can't be said for other big celebs. Also just a really talented guy and have produced countless hit songs. Smart business man too.

". "It has to do with the way he was raised. He's a very amenable Southern gentleman. He calls everyone sir or ma'am. I grew up in Manhattan, and there are friends of mine, you'd think they had invented Twitter. He's not like that. He'll treat a doorman and Bill Gates the same way." "

This is the article if anyone is interested :

Is a guy in his 40s really a "young man"?

What surprised me and I think is outrageous is this statement from the article: "Many are outraged at Pharrell’s suggestion that Michael Brown was a bully on the day he died."

Brown physically overpowered the storeowner by forcibly and illegally taking/robbing from the owner. Calling that "bully" is in my opinion very generous and there should be zero outrage. I would go further and called that criminal, thug-ish, or even worse.

Personal responsibility has nothing to do with why people are protesting.

Personal responsibility is a conservative strawman argument.
