Going by at least WW 2; you may be right. The Jews lost what, 1 in 3 of their people in the Holocaust?
Tho word is its what people call "middleman" groups who have the rep of getting whacked when times are bad. Same for the Tutsis in Rwanda, Chineses in many countries and so on so it ain't a "race" thing.
I doubt any such group wants or cares about your 'sympathy'.
