In 1967 Colonel Gaddafi inherited one of the poorest nations in Africa; however, by the time he was assassinated, Gaddafi had turned Libya into Africa’s wealthiest nation. Libya had the highest GDP per capita and life expectancy on the continent. Less people lived below the poverty line than in the Netherlands.
Shame on NATO for stuffing up this country. Besides Gaddafi did warn that extremist Islam would spread if his regime did fell and he was right. Here is a speech by him on that warning:

Yep, we blundered in both cases with waging war against the legitimate government of those countries. Much like we did in supporting rebels that overthrew the government of Egypt and seem inclined to do in Syria. You would think that our government would learn. Brutal dictators seem to be all that can keep vicious Muslim tribes from slaughtering each other.
