Then WE THE PEOPLE were lied to, from the beginning.... The `ol bait and switch.
The first 70 years, it did work just as the Constitution outlined.
Then someone started to stomp on States rights as outlined in the constitution.
Had the Constitutional Convention, not compromised with the south, there would be 2 separate nations today and from the start. That would have saved a civil war and saved a lot of lives & resentment.
Then you have the Unconstitutional Reconstruction and Reconstitution of the south. That is another thread topic all in itself.
The threat to the safety of this country is the stupidity of its people. Civilizations fall not from struggle and descention, but from complacency and the acceptance of corruption.
So basically you should be in support of that if you think it will lead to the fall of the government giving you what you want which is NO government at all.
I know, definitely I know. Every single one of my elderly relatives passed away before retirement age and did not live to see the money they paid into social security. If that isn't outrageous to the nth degree, I don't know what is.
I volunteer at my daughter's school a few times a year with a program called Watch Dogs.
One of the perks for the students whose fathers come in to volunteer is they get to have lunch with their father up on the stage (where room mothers and others also eat with their kids). Since my daughter loves a pizza place around the corner from her school, I will run and get a pizza from there for us to eat.
Well, a note recently was sent home saying that if you eat lunch with your child, you are no longer allowed to bring in pizzas, burgers or chicken strip/nugget meals, because they may not comply with the school's nutrition program - aka, with the new federal guidelines, they are afraid of losing any funding.
This is, once again, where the federal government is sticking its fingers where they don't belong, and the big government "I need a nanny" types will say, "But it's providing for the general welfare." That "general welfare" tag has become the code for "the government needs to do what it wants and this clause allows it because everything the government does is for the general welfare of the people."
BTW, I still get the pizza to take to the school. They once approached me about it, and I simply said, "If I can't bring pizza, I'm not going to volunteer." The principal just said, "Well, keep it low key then." I haven't heard another word since.
Well it sounds like you solved your own problem. Keep bringing unhealthy food with you, clearly it sounds like they won't do anything about it.
So basically you should be in support of that if you think it will lead to the fall of the government giving you what you want which is NO government at all.
Libertarian principals eventually assert themselves one way or another, either through intelligent choice, or by the collapse of systems built on exploitation and deceit.

So libertarian principles (not principals) are all about NO government? Seems like you might need read up on those libertarian principles because I think you might be missing something.

I've noticed that every time you don't like someone's view you come back with an all or nothing comment. It's a lame rebuttal and everyone but you knows it.

Actually this is a simple question, this thread is about this civil war that is apparently coming, which typically mean there are two sides. I was wondering what side the OP is on if the OP thinks these protests are one side, which makes the government the other side.

If the elderly get sick the hospitals want to get you out of the hospital as soon as possible. Yes that's a good thing but there are people who are told they need help 24/7 (don't leave them alone).
Those people who paid into the system, should they need help at home they can't get it. The only people who can get that help is the dead beats that soaked the system all their lives.

No it wasn't. He is right. You just came in with a all or none comment. He never said NO government, he is making a comment that there are:
1. people who are too dumb to know they are being played.
2. Other people willingly give away our freedoms as long as government throws them a few bones.
Government knows it too. Keep em stupid and give them a few freebies, keep em dependent and government will have full control. That's exactly where we are.
