For POTUS, the South is a non factor. They simply keep the GOP around a 38% share of EC votes..over 24 years, with the last census shift of 7 EC votes, the blue shift of Va and NM overwhelmed that.

The south will quickly tire of Boehner and McConnell. The GOP was pronounced dead not long ago.

The fools in charge have a way of bringing the other side back to life.

Sounds like Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Houston.

Must be something more than the cost of housing, bringing them here.
Maybe because we have no State income base taxing to steal money from them.
Same housing cost, but more in their pockets to work with, after their house payment is made.

That's when you have to remind them WHY they fled the blue state. Some of them aren't too bright...and Gruber agrees.

Weather. Nobody likes snow.

Interesting, this most recent census resulted in California not gaining a congressional seat (EC vote) for the first time ever. Must be why California is pro amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Actually people leave those states to go to other states, or south to Florida for retirement.

New York's biggest migrants go to New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Please tell me what the hell that has to do with taxes?

Pretty much.

As for California, middle class families are flocking to Texas. However, California continues to have a large wealthy migration into the state. If the state is so "anti-wealthy" with taxes, why do they keep moving there?

Could it be that taxes don't mean anything?

People continue to move to California because they still believe the "Golden State" myth. After they are here for awhile they realize how tarnished California really is. Six months and counting before I escape this crap hole. Btw, taxes mean a lot!!
