It's not "racism".

If you read the story or investigated more fully albinos are being killed for superstitious reasons.

Albino isn't a race. Black people are being killed all over Africa for a variety of reasons, ethnic or otherwise. It's just hard for any atrocity in Africa to be heard over the noise. There's genocide going on, girls being raped because they believe sex with a virgin will cure HIV, starvation. And yes, for the most part people don't care what happens in Africa any more than they do in Central America, far closer to home. Honduras still has the highest homicide rate in the world.

People care what happens in Africa. Americans are the most generous people of the world. Been giving money and bringing attention to genocide and AIDs etc in Africa. It's the African people themselves who believe raping virgins will cure AIDs, etc. Killing Albinos will bring them wealth. How and why do they think of these things? Their future looks bleak to me. I don't even know what to say to help these people anymore.

But not that much.

In absolute terms, America does contribute a lot to foreign aid. In terms of GNI, however, it's very low. We just don't contribute that much. That's the government. Private charity donations are harder to pin down. We're almost always at the top of charity indexes like the World Giving Index. How much of that charity goes to Africa or Honduras, however, I really don't know. A lot of our biggest charities are more American-focused. I don't know how much YMCA or Salvation Army are doing in Africa.

So what countries do contribute the most to Africa? I am interested in knowing.
