I'm glad we agree that people who abuse the system should be put to shame.
There is also the matter of abortion
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me.
I can see the liberal explanation now though, "but but but Jesus, the Supreme Court said it was legal."
The liberal and should be conservative view would be you choose. I don't condone it but is your choice. Not sure what the bible says about a developing fetus. I know some old school Christians believe that it wasn't life until the quickening.
Is this what Pelosi was doing while washing feet of illegals......forcing health care upon all of us without reading the WHOLE bill? Feinstein doesn't care if she destroys the whole world, as long as she (1 person) gets her way!
One thing I do know, liberals enjoy breaking the "laws of the land" and help people outside of America more than Americans.
I'm not surprised you liberals know so much about each-other. I've never had Pelosi talk to me about religion as I don't congregate with her type. I'm not going to judge you because you do.
Jesus did tell us to spread he Gospel. Is that what you mean by "forcing it down other people's throats?"
Accepting Christ is a personal decision. It cannot be forced on anybody. All we can do it preach the word, in the hope that some might be saved. Acceptance or rejection of Christ is entirely up to the individual.
That is not what I mean. What I mean is when those who who force their beliefs or lifestyles upon others. People who try to make laws on the basis of religion that govern everyone (religious or not).
Four presidents of the US; John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Millard Fillmore and William Howard Taft were Unitarians, e.g. non-Christians. Three presidents; Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson were unaffiliated. Jefferson re-wrote the Bible, and Lincoln was known to mock religion on occasion. Joe Lieberman, Jewish, ran for VP and considered running for president. Mitt Romney, a Mormon, ran for POTUS. Mormonism is not part of mainstream Christianity. Mormons consider themselves different from both Catholics and Protestants.
Huh? Unitarianism IS a branch of Christianity. Just like Mormons are...
And look at the time those people were presidents. None of them recently...
Not this again! We had this discussion on the thread "Would you vote for a non-Christian president?"
Unitarianism is not a branch of Christianity. One can be a Christian and a Unitarian, but it's not a requirement. One does not have to believe in the divinity of Christ to be a Unitarian. Go over there and take a look. Mormonism is neither Catholic or Protestant; a Mormon on that thread called it "Restorationist". Both these religions, Unitarianism more than Mormonism, are outside of mainstream Christianity.
No, it hasn't been recently that a non-Christian has been POTUS. I guess Taft is the most recent (if he wasn't), 1909-1913. I'm not sure what that point is.
ETA: I just looked back, and we had some of this discussion on this very thread earlier.
