The whole thing is fishy.
I guess doing things like trying to assassinate the South Korean president in Ragoon Burma in 1983 and killing 21 people wasn't them

I agree. From the trailers it looked like an extremely idiotic and sophomoric film, but even so, why are we allowing another country dictate what we can and cannot do in our own country? If North Korea can get away with this, then we will soon be at the mercy of any country that decides to follow suit.

Sony should have released the movie via Netflix, OnDemand, Red Box, etc.

It will have to be a bootleg, and they are illegal everywhere in this country. When Sony stopped distribution, that's it. No theater can show it legally, period.

I seriously doubt you'll see it. If you do, expect the doors to the Alamo Drafthouse to be closed shortly afterward for a very long time. No public gathering place can get away with copyright violation these days with no penalty. Sony will sue them for every nickel they have, and will win, and the feds will get them for criminal violation.

This is nothing but more Texas hot gaseous discharge.

LOL! Mr. high powered lawyer!

The theaters that were scheduled to show the movie, have the movie already, for the release date that was suppose to be Christmas day. No bootleg needed.
Actually the theaters have a contracts with a date to premier. The theaters spend a premium for the movies. To break contracts takes honor, to avoid future fallout with the movie company, or monetary damages for a broken contract they have invested in to make revenue that was not provided and the terms of the contract changed. Of coarse, clauses protect the guy providing the contract.

They may hack, but they don't (threat to) kill civilians en masse to push their political agenda.

Civilians

Bottom line is that SONY has to protect American civilians. What do you expect SONY to do?
