I haven't read a thing about the tone of voice she was asked with and the look the customers face either.

It's not clear if she was talking about race or that someone in Target may not have grasped or perhaps cared, that she is The First Lady.

I do think it was because no one recognized her why she said it, not because it was a racist thing. think she said the same thing a few years back the last time she went shopping in public.

I'm 5'11" and am routinely asked to get something down for various short shoppers. It's called "being helpful."

But then she's speshul.

My first thought too.

I've been asked for help in Music stores, Home Depot and quite a few others too.
I do offer any help that I may be able to accomplish.

Is it because I am a white male!?!

No she didn't. Both her and Obama were recounting their tales of supposed "racism" that they had experienced and that's when she segued into her outrageous story. This is typical of liberal Democrats looking for racism where there is none.

Here's the original article..How the Obamas'a deal with racist experiences. And she listed that "experience" in Target as an example. It IS all about skin color.

The Obamas: How We Deal with Our Own Racist Experiences - Ferguson, politics, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama : People.com
The protective bubble that comes with the presidency – the armored limo, the Secret Service detail, the White House – shields Barack and Michelle Obama from a lot of unpleasantness. But their encounters with racial prejudice aren't as far in the past as one might expect. And they obviously still sting.

As I say when someone says that someone is "acting dumb" that it's not an act, some also are not playing.

I never thought it being racist if you asked someone to get coffee. There are times I mistake someone for a store clerk, and times when someone mistakes me for a store clerk.. what is the big deal.. and asking someone to help get something off of the shelf.. usually the short people can't reach the top shelf .. so what is so racist about that? Some people have too much baggage on race and color. It is too bad some people are taught to be this sensitive about race. It is getting way out of hand.
